Marco Freivogel is a producer, composer, DJ, live performer and studio ENGINEER.
his music has received widespread critical praise for its originality, depth and composition, which shows a versatility and openness to stretching the boundaries of both club and ambient music.
making electronic music since he was a teenager in live industrial goth bands, His adult music career was primarily under the alias’s Prequel Tapes and Exercise One; recording and releasing for labels including R’COUP’D (Ninja Tune), Cocoon, Kompakt (as SYCUM), Wagon Repair, Mannequin, Veyl, Crosstown Rebels, Fabric and Midnight Shift. He’s remixed for Shackleton, Fink, Yappa, Depayk & Padberg, Lee Burridge and Francois X among many others. An artist who loves to collaborate, he’s worked with dBridge, Jensen Intercepter, rICHIE cuLVER, Bill Kouligas, Mathew Jonson, Elif Bicer, Mama, Tiefschwarz and Mare Nero, & most recently a deconstructed club project with flutist Adam Sinclaire.
His live performances range from solo all hardware jams to a large-scale collaboratION with butoh dancer Valentin Tzin and motion artist nomoreless. His DJing is anything but straight techno with his recorded sets, podcasts and radio appearances chosen for mixes of the month by the likes of pitchfork, RESIDENT ADVISOR and Groove magazin.
Marco HAS a synth studio in Berlin, where he works on composition for television and film, his own productions and collaborations, as well as engineering AND MIXING.
